Living Room Makeover: Before and After
The living room in our new home was the first room that really came together here. We removed the window treatments almost right away to open up the windows more and my dad painted our living room shortly after we moved in. Thank you, Dad!
The color was originally a beige with a peachy undertone. I wanted to do a white or a greige. After hours and hours of considering color options, we settled on Behr Swiss Coffee--a wonderful, rich and creamy white. We used our living room furniture from our old house in this room and purchased the oriental rug from the former owners.
I spent a lot of time looking for the right curtains for this room. Like A LOT of time. I ended up finding light blue, velvet curtains from HomeGoods that I love. We went with the “wide and high” method for hanging the curtains, so I was on the hunt for curtains that were 95″ long and didn’t cost me a fortune. I definitely recommend HomeGoods (even over Target or World Market) for curtains.
Before:
Here are some before photos of the living room.
After:
Here are some after photos of the finished living room, taken by Deb from Snap Studio (except the first, photo below I took). Deb you are soo awesome. Thank you for these pictures, Deb!

For anyone curious, here are some details on this living room:
Paint Color: Behr Swiss Coffee
Coffee Table: another Target find
Chairs: I found our midnight Chesterfield chairs from World Market, they still sell them but in gray.
Coffee Table: We wanted something narrow (more room for the boys to run their laps, ha!) and we found this one at Home Depot.
Couch: Ikea Ektorp slipcover sofa with a chaise
Lamps: The lamps are from Target here and here.
End Tables: I found these at Changing Thymes, a consignment and antique store in Grandville, MI.
