Modern Boys’ Batman Bedroom (the finished room reveal)

Room Reveal! A Modern Batman Shared Bedroom

When we moved into our home this past November, we saw SO much potential here. We also knew we wanted to update most spaces in the home–some with just fresh paint and some area (like the kitchen and bathrooms) we planned to more fully renovate.

But, like I said in this post, I wanted to work on updating the boys’ shared bedroom for one of our first projects. We ended up starting projects on multiple rooms at once, so it has taken a long time to finally share a “finished” space. (To be honest, I’m still planning on putting curtains in over the roller shades, but we’re calling it close enough!)

In case you missed the first post about their bedroom, here are the before photos:

And here again is my inspiration board for their room, along with product link sources (not sponsored or affiliate – just happy to share!)

Batman Bedroom Mood Board-revised

  1. H&M Batman Duvet Set (currently on SALE for only $9.99)
  2. Gothman City Wall Decal via Amazon
  3. Hobby Lobby Sign
  4. Batman Wall Decal via Amazon
  5. Hobby Lobby Sign
  6. Black & White Wall Clock via Target
  7. Lightning Bolt Table Lamp via Target
  8. Batman Alarm Clock via Menards ($10 cheaper than the same product on Amazon right now)
  9. H&M Batman Plate (one on each dresser to hold little knickknacks)

I loved how the cool light and dark gray paint worked in their room. And I think/hope the colors will work well in their long after it’s a Batman-themed room…

The bunk beds were given to us from Nick’s parents and, fun fact, Nick and his brother used the same beds when they were growing up. That detail just pulls on my heart strings! (I took down the railing/bumpers for the photos, in case anyone is concerned about their safety…they’re all good!)

I was also thrilled to find a modern black flush-mount light for their room at Menard’s. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen me recently share how much I LOVE Menard’s lighting options. They have so many fantastic choices for really decent prices.

Their gray rug and dressers are all from Ikea (purchased a few years ago). And the rug actually works better now in their room than it did before. Yay!

We also wanted to fit a little reading nook area in their room. The boys both LOVE reading, so what better thing for their room then comfy, personalized chairs with a basket of books to choose from? For Christmas, my parents gave the boys these awesome “Anywhere Chairs” from Pottery Barn Kids. These were purchased during their Black Friday sale, but if you sign up for their email list you can get 15% off anytime.

The framed prints are from Hobby Lobby and both the Batman and Gotham City decals are from Amazon. Hobby Lobby is full of so many great options for decorating a nursery or big kid’s bedroom. You probably know this, but be sure to always download the 40% off coupon for Hobby Lobby for big savings. You don’t have to print the coupon, you can just show them the coupon on your phone!

Here above you can see this simple wall with a modern black and white clock. We also gave the boys these superhero cape towels for Christmas that hang over their door. They seriously pretend to fly after bath time pretty much every night in these! #boymomlife

The other side of the room has Adler’s dresser topped with this fun lightning bolt lamp that was also found at…you guessed it…Target! And my in-laws bought the boys’ a cute, little Batman nightlight for Christmas from Amazon.

Well, there you have a little tour of the boys’ modern Batman bedroom!

What do you think? Do you have any design tips or tricks for doing kids’ rooms?

Thanks for reading!
